We All Need Lord Nityananda's Mercy

Today is the most auspicious appearance day of Lord Nityananda. In observance of this momentous occasion devotees all over the world are fasting until noon. Narottama Das Thakur has very nicely sung regarding Lord Nityananda:

nitāi-pada-kamala, koṭi-candra-suśītala
je chāyāy jagata jurāy
heno nitāi bine bhāi, rādhā-kṛṣṇa pāite nāi
dṛḍha kori' dharo nitāir pāy

"The lotus feet of Lord Nityananda are a shelter where one will get the soothing moonlight not only of one, but of millions of moons. If the world wants to have real peace, it should take shelter of Lord Nityananda. Unless one takes shelter under the shade of the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda, it will be very difficult for him to approach Radha-Krishna. If one actually wants to enter into the dancing party of Radha-Krishna, he must firmly catch hold of the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda."

If we take advantage of the unlimited kindness of Lord Nityananda and sincerely beg for His mercy, especially today on His most sacred appearance day, surely He will kindly bestow His causeless mercy upon us so that we can become happily situated in pure devotional service.

What does it mean for a person to be situated in Krishna consciousness? Is a person who is chanting 16 rounds regularly Krishna conscious? Or is following the regulative principles without fail the symptom of someone who is in Krishna consciousness? Or is it something more than that?

Gurudeva, please clarify my doubt. It is my humble request.

Answer: Always Remember and Never Forget Krishna

To be in Krishna consciousness means to always remember Krishna and never forget Him. It is as simple as that. Such a person who is always remembering Krishna will naturally chant at least 16 rounds a day of the Hare Krishna mantra on prayer beads while simultaneously avoiding illicit sex, meat eating, intoxication, and gambling. Such a Krishna conscious person will also naturally lovingly serve the Lord 24 hours day and dedicate his entire life for broadcasting the glories of the Lord to an ignorant world, which so desperately needs to hear them.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
