Two Syllables That Produce Unlimited Nectar

Srila Rupa Goswami has written in the Vidagha Madhava 1.15 that he does not know how much nectar the two syllables, "Krish" and "na" have produced because when he utters them Krishna literally dances in his mouth emanating so much nectar that his one mouth is not capable of containing it. Therefore Rupa Goswami desires many, many mouths. Then he describes that when the sacred name Krishna enters the holes of his ears there is so much nectar that he requires billions of ears to capture it. He concludes his wonderful glorification of the Lord's holy name by saying that when Krishna dances in the courtyard of his heart, his mind becomes completely conquered and all of his senses become inert.

Question: Why Krishna Consciousness is Strict?

I am a teenage girl living in Canada but I was born and raised as a Hindu. My question to you is that Hinduism has always been about pluralism but Krishna consciousness has strict practices. Please explain why this so. Also, would it matter who you are chanting to? What if one were to chant the name of Shiva instead? Will this change the result?

Answer: Success in Any Path Requires Strictness

Pluralism does not negate strict practice. Whether we choose to follow Krishna, Jesus, or Buddha, if we want spiritual success, we must strictly follow the rules and regulations. Otherwise we will never make any spiritual progress and will remain entangled in the cycle of birth and death.

Even though there are many names for God, God is still one. How to understand this? Consider the example of the sun. There are hundreds of different names for the sun according to the different languages of this world. But yet there is still only one sun. So whether we call the Supreme Person Buddha, Krishna, Allah, or Jehovah, there is still only one Supreme Person.

Lord Shiva is described in the revealed scriptures as being the topmost devotee of that Supreme Person. He personally declares:

"Any person who is surrendered to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna, the controller of everything -- material nature as well as the living entity -- is actually very dear to me."
--Srimad Bhagavatam 4.24.28

Therefore if we are truly devoted to Lord Shiva we will follow his instruction to accept Krishna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead and surrender ourselves fully at Lord Sri Krishna's lotus feet.
