Persistence Furthers

In Chinese wisdom it is very succinctly and profoundly stated, "Persistence furthers." This principle is very much applicable in the practice of Krishna consciousness. The devotee who persists in spite of all the ups and downs experienced in the neophyte stage of Krishna consciousness will in due course of time become a highly advanced devotee transcendentally situated beyond the dualities of material existence. Simply one must persist in his practice. He must never give it up. By doing so he will eventually attain the perfectional stage of prema bhakti.

Question: Why Krishna is Mischievous?

You may not know this, but the stories tell that Krishna as a child was mischievous. If He is God, shouldn't He be perfect? Or is this just a portrayal of innocent child play?

Answer: His Supreme Naughtiness is not Naughty

By the mercy of our spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, we are very highly educated about Krishna and His pastimes. So it is not that we are unaware of something regarding Krishna's childhood naughtiness.

It is a fact that in His childhood Krishna was the most mischievous child. Since Krishna is the Supreme Perfect, even in his naughty stealing of butter He remains the Supreme Perfect. Actually there is nothing mischievous about His butter stealing pastimes because He is the source of everything and thus the owner of everything including all the butter in the entire universe. So His stealing of butter is a show only, like a drama, simply to entertain the inhabitants of Gokula with His amazingly cute childhood antics.
