Why is it so difficult to get detached with someone who is very dear and close to us? Is it an offence if we want our dear ones to be always with us? We feel the pain in our heart in spite of knowing that everything is temporary.
Thank you,
Shewtahal
If one sees dear ones only in relationship to his body, he is in the darkness of ignorance. The Vaisnava sees all living beings as dear and therefore dedicates himself fully for delivering all living beings back to home, back to Godhead. This is called transcendental attachment and is a much better consciousness than so called detachment.

Question: Why Is It So Hard to Be Detached?
Please accept my humble obeisancesWhy is it so difficult to get detached with someone who is very dear and close to us? Is it an offence if we want our dear ones to be always with us? We feel the pain in our heart in spite of knowing that everything is temporary.

Answer: You are Misidentifying With Your Body
Detachment is very difficult as long as one clings to the false bodily conception of existence. One who sees through the eyes of the scriptures feels an affinity with every single living entity throughout the entire universe seeing the Supreme Lord situated within the hearts of all.If one sees dear ones only in relationship to his body, he is in the darkness of ignorance. The Vaisnava sees all living beings as dear and therefore dedicates himself fully for delivering all living beings back to home, back to Godhead. This is called transcendental attachment and is a much better consciousness than so called detachment.
