Question: Better to Serve Here or in Spiritual World?

My dear Maharaja!

Please accept my respectful obeisances!
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

When you started this preaching tour you are presently on, you said that it was a very auspicious trip, but you also said that even more auspicious was the trip back to home, back to Godhead. Well, I have a question: Is it more important to serve the Lord in the spiritual world or to serve Him in this world rescuing the fallen souls?

I am asking this question based on two verses from the Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 18 where the Lord says that there never was nor ever will be anyone dearer to Him than the person who explains to the devotees this transcendental science. And also in the eight prayers left by Lord Caitanya where He says that as long as He has devotional service, He doesn't even desire liberation.

Thank you very much, and please forgive me for stealing your valuable time!!!

Your aspiring servant,
Kesavarama Das

Answer: Service in Both Worlds is First Class

Serving the Lord in the spiritual world and serving His mission here in this material world of delivering the fallen souls back to home, back to Godhead are equally important. Therefore the pure devotee simply fully surrenders to the will of the Lord and is happy to serve Krishna either in the material world as a preacher or in the spiritual world in his original spiritual form. He does not experience any difference between these two types of service because even while in this material world the pure devotee is situated in his original relationship with Krishna. It is possible to serve in both worlds simultaneously as we read in the Srimad Bhagavatam that Prahlada Maharaja is simultaneously in the material world and the spiritual world.
