Using Everything in Krishna's Service

If anything material can be used in the service of Krishna, it is a mistake to give it up. This is the sublime principle of renunciation taught to us by Srila Rupa Goswami, the chief follower of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. One time I was criticized by a neophyte devotee in New Zealand that my spending so much time every day on the internet was materialistic. What he failed to see is that by the thousands and thousands of hours I have invested in writing and uploading "Thought for the Day" and answering over 62,000 individual emails since 2003 I am helping so many people to become Krishna conscious. To judge the propriety or impropriety of something we should see what is its result. We should never judge anything based on stereotypes or bias.

How not to be sexually frustrated while practicing Krishna consciousness?

Answer: Don't Over-Indulge in Sex

It is commonly thought that if a man does not have sex he must be frustrated like a starving man and that therefore he needs to indulge periodically in sex. But this is not true. Sex is given by God for producing children. Beyond its procreational utility there is no biological or psychological need to indulge in sex, either with a woman or by homosexuality or masturbation. It is simply due to the false propaganda of a civilization that is maddened by sex pleasure that people think otherwise. According to Vedic science if a man does not pass semina this most important substance will accumulate in his body to enrich his brain. Srila Prabhupada explains in this connection, "One who can completely control sex life is able to work wonderfully with his brain, especially in remembering." Due to overindulgence in sex the world is currently lacking the great men who are qualified to lead it out of its present chaotic condition. So instead of a man feeling frustrated that he is under-indulging in sex, he should feel frustrated if he is spoiling his brain by over-indulging in sex. Sex should only used for its natural purpose, i.e. making one's wife pregnant. This proper utilization of sex will free up a man's energy for his personal spiritual awakening and for his being able to make a full, meaningful, and substantial contribution to the spiritual awakening of the entire human society.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
