Necessity of Milk for Spiritual Awakening

Srila Prabhupada explains in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 2.5.37, "The mercantile class is also required to give protection to the cows in order to get sufficient milk and milk products, which alone can give the proper health and intelligence to maintain a civilization perfectly meant for knowledge of the ultimate truth." And he taught us by his example the importance of drinking milk by personally taking hot milk every evening as part of his standard diet. So milk is that very special food given by God that helps us to develop our brains for understanding the subtle science of Krishna consciousness. Therefore it is recommended that all devotees should regularly take milk as part of their daily diet.

Question: Does Individual Human Cell Have a Soul?

As a biologist, I grow human cells in glass dishes everyday. These cells were derived from a tumor in a patient years ago. These cells still grow. If the soul is the principle living force for every individual, then after one's death how is it that these single cells from the dead body remain alive in the lab? Do these cells have the Paramatma alone in them without the presence of the individual atma our soul? How, according to Vedic understanding, are they alive?

Answer: Soul is Present in All Living Things

The cells that you are maintaining also have souls present within them. This is how they are able to remain alive. Since the individual soul is always accompanied by the Supersoul, the Paramatma, the Paramatma is also present within those cells.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
