Don't Try to Be What You Are Not. Just Be Who You Really Are.

Our system is very simple. Don't try to be what you are not. Just be who you really are. In other words don't try to be your material body. That would be like the driver of a car trying to be the car. Instead, just think, speak, and act on the platform of your actual self, who is an eternal spiritual being who is full of bliss and full of knowledge, and who is a servant of the Supreme Person, the source of all existence, who is described as follows by Lord Brahma:

īśvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ
sac-cid-ānanda-vigrahaḥ
anādir ādir govindaḥ
sarva-kāraṇa-kāraṇam

"Kṛṣṇa who is known as Govinda is the Supreme Godhead. He has an eternal blissful spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no other origin and He is the prime cause of all causes."
(Brahma-Samhita Chapter 5, Text 1)

If try to train ourselves to always think, speak, and act in terms of our factual spiritual identities, we will remain undisturbed by any material situation and always blissfully absorbed in serving Lord Sri Krishna.

Question: How to Deal with Grief of Departed Loved One?

How it is possible to be undisturbed by external circumstance? When my brother-in-law died at the age of 38 from Covid last year I could not control myself. I know that everyone should go one day, but as he died at the young age my sister got into depression. She has a 7 years old boy. I say her to please keep patience and always chant Krishna's name. So now she has forgotten this tragic incident, but sometimes she cries when she remembers her husband. What is the solution for completely forgetting this matter?

She should always remember that her husband is not dead and gone. He is simply somewhere else now in a different situation. The best thing that she can for him is to fully absorb herself in devotional service to Lord Sri Krishna. She should do this because just as when we water the root of the tree all the leaves and branches are nourished, in a similar way when we give our loving service to Krishna we give the best loving service to all living beings throughout all of existence.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
