Do not cheat yourself by misidentifying yourself with your material body, which is temporary, full of ignorance, and full of misery. Your actual identity is that you are an eternal spiritual being full of knowledge, and full of bliss. You can revive your actual identity by chanting the Hare Krishna mantra under the guidance of the bona fide spiritual master. So instead of cheating yourself, reward yourself.

Question: The Japa of Haridas Thakur

Dandavat pranam, Guru Maharaj,
Please accept my humble obeisances.

I read that Namacharya Haridas Thakur was chanting 300,000 of Hare Krishna mantra daily. So there are 864,00 Seconds in a day. Even if I consider if he were chanting without any break then he must be chanting at speed of 3.5 mantra per second. How is this possible? Is there is any method to chant at this astronomical speed? Please guide me how because it takes me good 3 seconds per mantra chant. Of course I am tiny devotee don't want to compete with that speed but just for my knowledge.

Answer: 300,000 Sacred Names Daily

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Haridas was not chanting the Mahamantra 300,000 times daily. He was chanting 300,000 sacred names daily. Since each repetition of the Mahamantra contains 16 names and there are 108 repetitions in each round, he was chanting 174 rounds per day. If he was chanting at the speed of 16 rounds in 2 hours, it would take him 22 hours to chant the 300,000 names.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
