Krishna is Simply Wonderful!

Krishna is Simply Wonderful!

Simply Wonderfuls are Also Simply Wonderful

Simply Wonderfuls are Also Simply Wonderful
Here's the simply wonderful "simply wonderful" pastime of Srila Prabhupada which manifested in Los Angeles, California, USA on 21 July 1971. My dear Godrother, Nanda-Kishore Prabhu, who I met shortly after he had this pastime Srila Prabhupada, asked Srila Prabhupada what happens when we give a person on the street one of above pictured sweets called Simply Wonderful.

Nanda-Kishor: What happens to a person if we just give him out on the street one Simply Wonderful or some prasadam, one piece of prasadam?

Prabhupada: That is wonderful, simply wonderful. (laughter) He has not tasted such wonderful sweet in his life. Therefore you give him wonderful, and because he's eating that wonderful sweet, one day he'll come to your temple and become wonderful.

Devotees: Jaya! Prabhupada: Therefore it is simply wonderful. So go on distributing this Simply Wonderful. Your philosophy is simply wonderful. Your prasadam is simply wonderful. You are simply wonderful. And your Krishna is simply wonderful. The whole process of simply wonderful. And He acts wonderfully, and it is acting wonderfully. Who can deny it?

Kirtanananda: Prabhupada is simply wonderful.

Prabhupada: That's all right. You can become... Everyone. All right, have kirtana.

Question: Soul and Consciousness

Hare Krishna Srila Gurudeva,
Please accept my humble obeisances,

I am unable to understand these statements Srila Gurudeva. Please help me understand:
1) The soul is consciousness and conscious.
2) Consciousness is symptom of soul. But when the soul undergoes the change of body at that time soul is unconscious (or not active).

Your sincerely,
Bhaktin Krutika

Answer: The Symptom of the Soul's Presence

My Dear Krutika

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

The symptom of the presence of the soul is consciousness. When there is consciousness we can understand that a soul is present. For example, we can observe that even a plant is conscious of the difference between light and darkness. This means that a soul is present even in the plants.

Sometimes in deep sleep the soul become unconscious. Just like when a man makes his wife pregnant, the impregnated remains unconscious within his mother's womb until the age of seven months when he becomes conscious. Srila Prabhupada describes this as follows:

"Actually, when the child remains within the womb of his mother, packed up in an airtight bag, within the womb at the age of seven months, when he develops his consciousness, he feels very uncomfortable, and the fortunate baby prays to God, 'Please relieve me from this awkward position, I shall fully engage myself in developing my God consciousness or Krsna consciousness in this life.' But as soon as the child comes out of the womb of his mother, under the spell of these three modes of material nature he forgets, and he cries, and the parents take care, and the whole thing is forgotten."

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.

Your ever well-wisher,
