Question: Age Restriction for Bhakti?
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Please accept my humble obeisances, Gurudeva!
Is there any age restriction to be spiritually enlightened or to reach the platform of highest perfection in krishna consciousness because people who are near and dear to me are misguiding me by insisting their point of view on me that the spirituality is only and only meant for old age people who are free from all their materialistic responsibilites.
I crave for you guidance, Gurudeva!
Your servant,
Krishney
Answer: Take to Bhakti as Early as Possible
My Dear Krishney,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
One can be spiritually enlightened at any age. Everyone should take up spiritual life immediately as soon as they learn about it.
In this regard the great devotee Prahlāda Mahārāja said, "One who is sufficiently intelligent should use the human form of body from the very beginning of life—in other words, from the tender age of childhood—to practice the activities of devotional service, giving up all other engagements. The human body is most rarely achieved, and although temporary like other bodies, it is meaningful because in human life one can perform devotional service. Even a slight amount of sincere devotional service can give one complete perfection."
I hope this meets you in the best of health
and in an ecstatic mood.
