Bogus Gurus Are Expert at Taking Your Money But Not at Taking Away Your Anxiety
When I was a young spiritual seeker in the 60's trying to attain spiritual enlightenment I was cheated by a so-called guru who promised me spiritual enlightenment through a mantra that I had to purchase from him. So I did it. I paid for the mantra and I chanted it again and again and again with no result. This so-called guru became rich and famous by his cheating game, but he could not bestow spiritual enlightenment upon even one person. The bona fide spiritual master will never charge you money for teaching you how to become spiritually enlightened. Rather he shares his teachings with you as an act of love.

Answer: He Doesn't Want It to Hurt His Business
I had an experience of such a so-called guru who was making money selling the mantra. This is why we were told not to share it. That would have hurt his business. The bona fide guru gives the mantra freely and instructs his disciples to give it freely and openly to the whole world.
