Question: Why Are We Frustrated?

Dandavat Gurudev,
Please accept my humble obeisances!
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Since we are minute parts of Krishna, aren't we enjoyers to a certain degree like Krishna? If this is true, then why do we get frustrated in our attempts at sense gratification?

Your servant,

Trivikram Das

Answer: Because We Foolishly Try to Enjoy Separately

My Dear Trivikrama,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Our only enjoyment is in pleasing Krishna, not in trying to enjoy separately from Krishna. We only get frustrated when we foolishly try to enjoy separately from Krishna.

This is compared to the hand, which can only enjoy the benefit of the food by feeding it to the stomach. It cannot enjoy separately.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.

Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
