Shooting for the Rhinoceros

Shooting for the Rhinoceros
In a letter to Balavanta Das written from Mumbai, India on 22 December 1971 Srila Prabhupada used hunting for a rhinoceros as a simile for someone who is trying to accomplish something that which is considered to be impossible. He wrote, "We should always be enthusiastic to try for shooting the rhinoceros. That way, if we fail, everybody will say, 'Never mind, nobody can shoot a rhinoceros anyway.', and if we succeed, then everyone will say, 'Just see, what a wonderful thing they have done.'"

In this connection it can be noted that Srila Prabhupada many times gave us the "shooting the rhinoceros" order to deliver the world from illusion by making the whole world Krishna conscious. So therefore let us try for it sincerely. If we fail, people will not find fault with us because they will think that it was not possible anyway. And if we succeed it will be noted down in the history books that we accomplished the greatest paradigm shift in the history of the universe. So why not try for it? We've nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Question: Healthy Hare Krishnas?

Are Hare Krishnas healthy?

Michael Trivedi

Answer: Naturally

Hare Krishna people are naturally more healthy that others of their age because of their diet and their sin free life style. For example people that I associate with are surprised to hear that I am in my 70’s. Their impression is that I am much younger.
