You Are What You Eat
If you eat foods which have been sanctified by having been offered to Lord Sri
Krishna with love and devotion, you become purified. Such foods are called
"prasadam," which means "mercy" because they are indeed a manifestation of the
loving mercy of Krishna (God) upon us. On the other hand if you eat foods, even
vegetarian foods, which have not been offered to God with love and devotion, you
are eating sin and you will get a bad karmic reaction. This reaction is heavier
when you eat meat and most heavy when you eat cow meat. Considering this we can
understand why the world is in such turmoil right now because of the karma of
our eating the 156 million innocent animals that are killed every day so that we
can enjoy the taste of their blood and flesh.
In his purport for Srimad Bhagavatam, Sixth Canto, Chapter Four, Text 9 Srila Prabhupada writes:
"Indeed, one who kills a cow must suffer for as many years as there are hairs on the body of a cow."
Given that nearly everyone on the planet eats beef on a regular basis, and that a cow likely has millions of hairs on its body, does verse say that virtually every human being will be sent to the animal kingdom for millions of lifetimes before they again get the chance to resume their human form?

My Dear Sanjay,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Yes, but by the mercy of Lord Caitanya they can all be saved. That is why we are now endeavoring to make the whole world Krishna conscious.
I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.
Your ever well-wisher,
