When Stress Becomes Delightful
Normally we hate stress. We can't stand it. It makes us miserable. However when one masters the art of engaging all stressful situations in the service of the Lord, one will experience his most stressful days as his most delightful days. So what is the art of how to do this? This is described by Lord Sri Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 9, Text 27 as follows:
yat karoṣi yad aśnāsi
yaj juhoṣi dadāsi yat
yat tapasyasi kaunteya
tat kuruṣva mad-arpaṇam
"Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform—do that, O son of Kuntī, as an offering to Me."
In other words, we simply have to give our love to Krishna. In this connection it is sometimes said, "The trouble that you take, is equal to the love that you make." This act of loving transforms even the most distressful situation into pure transcendental bliss.
