Be More Tolerant than a Tree

In this material world there are so many difficulties that we all must face on a regular daily basis. For many it is so unbearable that they commit suicide. And for most, they futilely try to escape their suffering by engaging in material sense gratification as much as possible. Feeling compassion for our suffering situation Lord Caitanya, Who is Lord Sri Krishna Himself appearing in the form of His own devotee, has advised us very nicely to be as tolerant as tree and to continue chanting the names of the Lord. By following His simple formula our lives will become unlimitedly sublime even in this most miserable material existence.

tṛṇād api sunīcena
taror api sahiṣṇunā
amāninā mānadena
kīrtanīyaḥ sadā hariḥ

"One can chant the holy name of the Lord in a humble state of mind, thinking himself lower than the straw in the street. One should be more tolerant than the tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige and ready to offer all respects to others. In such a state of mind one can chant the holy name of the Lord constantly." (Śikṣāṣṭaka 3)

It is scientifically verifiable that nothing comes from nothing. Therefore there must be an original something from which everything has sprung. The doubters will argue that there is an unlimited chain of causality with no original cause. But even in an infinite chain of causality it is also scientifically verifiable that there has to be an unmoved mover somewhere along the line who can spark off a chain of reactions. Lord Krishna has been able to personally demonstrate to many eye witnesses that He is indeed that original cause of all causes. For example, 5,000 years ago Krishna scientifically revealed to His mother Yasoda, who looked inside His mouth, how everything past, present, and future is existing within Him. And any scientist who is open-minded enough not to be a puppy dog for Dr. Steven Hawking can be granted a personal vision by Lord Krishna Himself in which He will show to that scientist how everything is emanating from Him even at this every moment.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
