On the Road Again

Things are developing so nicely now here in our Austin center that we feel that we should remain here full time to help things move forward even more. But I also have an obligation to nurture and strengthen my disciples all over the world. Hence we will continue with our program of traveling and preaching with the adjustment of spending more time in Austin. Neophyte devotees often go through various kinds of struggle and thus require the guidance of more experienced devotees to help them overcome the hurdles. This is I why I make myself fully available by email for anyone who needs help and encouragement in their spiritual life.

What is the best example of success when no one believed in it?

The best example of success when no one could have believed that it could be possible is the example of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. He was a 70 year man who had suffered two heart attacks on the boat coming to America from India in 1965. He had only 40 rupees, which was worth only $10 at that time. Who could have thought that this elderly swami could launch a huge spiritual movement, the Hare Krishna movement, with followers and temples all over the world and which is now worth millions of dollars? It is unthinkable and is surely one of God’s miracles.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
