What Goes Around Comes Around

Those who understand the science of action and reaction, that whatever goes around comes around, in other words the law of karma, always avoid as far as possible committing any type of violence even to a little ant, what to speak of to a human being. The fact is that the laws of nature are very strict. They cannot be avoided. Everyone suffers or enjoys the fruits of his previous activities both from in this lifetime and from in previous lifetimes. However, there is a loophole, a way to be exempted from the reactions of thousands of previous lifetimes. If one sincerely engages himself in the service of the supreme person, that person who is the source of all existence, i.e., God, he is relieved of all his karmic reactions.

This is compared to an ambulance driver who can legally run a red light without getting a ticket when he is on an emergency run. The servant of God becomes transcendental to the stringent law of karma because He is no longer acting independently for his own satisfaction. Now he is fully dedicated to always acting wholly and solely for the satisfaction of Krishna or God.

Question: How Can Krishna Be Present and Not Present?

Dear Guru Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
All glories to Iskcon devotees.
All glories unto you.

It was pleasure to meet you two days back in the Delhi temple, to listen your talk and the song "The Peace Formula."

I have a question which pertains to Bhagavad-gita 9.4 and 15.15. In 9.4 Krishna says, "All beings are in me, but I am not in them."; and then in 15.15 He says "I am seated in every one's heart." So while not being in them, Krishna says He is there in everyone's heart. Kindly clarify how these two statements are true at the same time. I will be grateful to you and look forward to an early reply.

Kindest regards.

Most sincerely,
Asima Narottam Das

Answer: It Is a Matter of Perception

From: Sri Mayapur Dhama, India

My Dear Asit,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

While it is true that Krishna is present in the hearts of all living beings His presence there is only manifest to His devotees.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
