Spiritualist or Materialist?

Spiritualist or materialist, which will it be for you? Castles made of sand are washed into the sea. So do you want to live a sand castle existence that is destroyed by time? Or would you prefer an existence that it is never withered away by time and that instead becomes fresher and more exciting with each passing day? The choice is obvious for all thoughtful persons, and the choice is yours! You are not forced to live in sand castle.

So why doesn't everyone opt for the obvious only good choice? The answer is: conformity. We live in a world society where 99.99% of the population is going for the sand castle and one is considered weird if he does not follow suit. This is why we need to seek out the genuine spiritualists wherever they are and bond with them. The synergy of associating of devotees of Truth is very powerful and uplifting. Take advantage of it and make your life successful.

This is the mentality that obliged you to enter the cycle of birth and death to begin with. This reminds me of a story.

Once upon a time the parts of the body became very disturbed. They thought that it was very unfair that they all worked very hard to feed stomach, and the stomach just sat there and enjoyed the food. So they decided to form a labor union and go on strike. They got their signs and formed a picket line repeatedly chanting, “Don’t feed the stomach. Don’t feed the stomach. The stomach is a Facist pig. Don’t feed the stomach.” So they went on with their strike with great enthusiasm for a couple of days, but then started losing their energy. By the fourth day they were all lying down on the ground so weak that they could not even stand up. Finally the leader of the labor feebly muttered that we must have another meeting of the labor union. And they all voted to go back to feeding the stomach because that was the only they could get any energy.

You are like one of the foolish bodily parts, cutting yourself from the very source of your existence, peace, prosperity, and happiness. Indeed you are the one who is the oppressor. You are foolishly oppressing yourself. So I hope you can wake up and stop oppressing yourself.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
