Don't Punish Yourself

For the eternal spiritual being to misidentify himself with matter means that he is foolishly punishing himself. He is relegating himself to the realm of birth, death, old age, and disease. It is interesting to note in this connection that the reason we do not want to die is that factually we do not die. At the time of death we simply experience a change of body. One who understands his true spiritual identity and develops a loving relationship with that supreme person, who is the very source of his existence, regains his original, deathless spiritual form, never to take birth again in this land of birth and death. He or she is the fortunate person in all of existence.
