If we chant just one round daily of the Hare Krishna mantra, will it be effective for our achieving spiritual perfection?

Answer: At Least Sixteen Rounds Required

Chanting one round of the Hare Krishna mahamantra daily on japa mala beads is a good beginning. This is 108 repetitions of this most sacred of all sound vibrations.

When we chant it we are begging Krishna that we can fully surrender unto His instructions. In the Bhagavad-gita Krishna instructs us to chant His name 24 hours a day. Therefore the perfection of chanting the Hare Krishna mahamantra is to chant it constantly 24 hours daily. Since there are so many distractions in the modern age: work, study, etc, ISKCON Founder-Acharya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada has told us that we will get the benefit of constant chanting if we will purely chant the Hare Krishna mahamantra at least 16 rounds daily.

Therefore kindly increase your chanting now or gradually to at least 16 rounds daily. This will bring you unlimited peace and happiness.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
