Radhastami-Appearance Day of Srimati Radharani
On Radhastami in 1973 in London Srila Prabhupada wonderfully spoke as follows:
Therefore in Vrindavan you will see all devotees, they will address one another, "Jaya Radhe." Still. Because they know that "If Radharani is pleased, if I can please Radharani..." Radharani is presented, the original pleasure potency, always absorbed in thought of Krishna. So anyone who comes before Radharani to serve Krishna, oh, She becomes so pleased, "Oh, here is a devotee of Krishna." She immediately recommends, "Krishna, oh, here is a devotee. He is better than Me." This is Radharani. I may be a, not devotee. I may be most fallen rascal. But if I try to reach Krishna through Radharani, then my business is successful. Therefore we should worship Radharani first. That is our business. Instead of offering directly one flower to Krishna, you just put it in the hands of Radharani: "My mother Radharani, Jagan-mata, if you kindly take this flower and offer it to Krishna." "Oh," Radharani says, "Oh, you have brought a flower?" Krishna said, patram puspam phalam toyam yo me bhaktya prayacchati [Bg. 9.26], but don't try to offer Krishna directly. Just offer through Radharani. It will be very much appreciated by Radharani.
So this is our philosophy, to please Krishna through Radharani, and just today is the auspicious day of Radharani appearance. So we should offer puspanjali and pray to Radharani that "Radharani, kindly be merciful and tell about me to Your Krishna. To Your Krishna. Krishna is Yours." Krishna, Radha-Krishna. Krishna is not independent. Krishna is Radharani's property. So you have to approach Krishna through Radharani. That is, today is the auspicious day. Worship Radharani very nicely and be happy.

Regarding how I came to Krishna consciousness, here is how it unfolded:
As a college youth I wanted to know the meaning of life, but nobody could tell me. Then I heard about becoming self-realized and wanted to attain it. After being disappointed with several bogus gurus a friend introduced me to the Hare Krishna mantra, which was indeed amazingly wonderful and mystical. Not feeling any connection with a career and so-called material happiness I decided to deny everything of this material world and accept instead the career of a beggar/renunciate in India. However on the way to India I realized that the perfection of denial was to deny denial itself and embrace instead a reality transcendental to this material existence. So I then embraced the mission of bringing a spiritual revolution to planet earth. Instead of going to India I adopted the lifestyle of a singer/songwriter in the USA for the purpose of sparking off a global spiritual revolution. However after spending two years in this pursuit I realized, "How I can spiritualize the world if I haven’t even spiritualized myself?" So I prayed to God to guide me what to do. Krishna kindly answered my prayer by sending His Holiness Vishnujana Swami to my town, Austin, Texas, USA. And this wonderful sannyasi inspired me to become an initiated disciple of Srila Prabhupada, who ordered us, his disciples, to become gurus and deliver the world from illusion. So now in pursuance of Srila Prabhupada’s order this is my life: to be a guru and to try to make the whole world Krishna conscious.
Since you are accepting as your spiritual master you can respectfully address me as "Srila Gurudeva."
