No One Should Ever Be Depressed
Srila Prabhupada explains as follows in the Teachings of Lord Caitanya, Chapter 11:
"The living entity, transmigrating through 8,400,000 species of life, is sometimes likened to a log which is gliding down a river. Sometimes, by chance, a log washes upon shore and is thus saved from being forced to drift further downstream. There is a verse in Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 10.38.5) which encourages every conditioned soul in this way: 'No one should be depressed by thinking that he will never be out of the clutches of matter, for there is every possibility of being rescued, exactly as it is possible for a log, which is floating down a river, to come to rest on the bank.' This fortunate opportunity is also discussed by Lord Caitanya. Such fortunate incidents are considered the beginning of the decline of one's conditional life, and they occur if there is association with the pure devotees of the Lord. By associating with pure devotees, one actually develops attraction for Krishna."
Therefore everyone should seek out the association of the pure devotees of Krishna, because simply by one moment's association with the pure devotees he can achieve the ultimate good fortune of being rescued from material existence. Thus there is no reason to ever be depressed.
Kindly help me understand that how to let go of my current belief in many gods. I have strongly believed in all the gods since my childhood. Therefore I have a great fear of stopping my prayers to Lord Shiva, Lord Shakti, Lord Ganapati and so on. I was initiated by a guru from India who prays to Mahalakshimi and all the other gods. I cannot disobey the orders of my spiritual master. Even Rama prayed to Lord Shiva as confirmed in the Ramayana. But you are saying they are all demigods and that is the greatest offense. I also pray to Krishna and chanting of Hare Krishna mantras, pure vegetarian, no gambling and no liqueur. Now I’m confuse and begging your lights. Can you initiate a disciple via a letter also?
Thanks & regards

That Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva is not in the authorized Ramayana, the Valmiki Ramayana. It is a concoction in later unauthorized editions of the Ramayana.
When you the water root of the tree, all the leaves and branches are nourished. Similarly when you give your devotion to Krishna, Who is the root of everything, your devotion automatically is offered to all of the demigods and also to all living beings.
If you try to please, by your devotion, all of the demigods, you will find it impossible feat to pray to each and every one of them, because there are 33 million demigods. But if you chant Hare Krishna with love you will have already automatically worshipped all of the 33 million demigods in the best possible way. So, understanding this, you should use your intelligence and exclusively worship Lord Sri Krishna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
A person who teaches us incorrectly to worship all the demigods is not a bona fide spiritual master, even though he may promoted as such by the fools and rascals. Therefore such a so-called guru should be rejected and replaced by a spiritual master who teaches you properly in accordance with the Bhagavad-gita how to fully surrender to Krishna.
When you become fully qualified you can be initiated by a letter, if necessary. To become qualified for initiation you must chant at least 16 rounds daily of the Hare Krishna mahamantra on japa mala beads while simultaneously strictly avoiding illicit sex, meat eating, intoxication, and gambling. So now qualify yourself for initiation and give the greatest pleasure to Krishna and to all of the demigods.

Answer: Water the Root of the Tree, Not the Leaves and Branches
All the demigods are real. They are not myths. But, since they are all devotees of Krishna and prefer that you worship Krishna instead of them, from now on you should channel all of your devotion to Krishna by worshipping only Krishna and not the demigods. That Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva is not in the authorized Ramayana, the Valmiki Ramayana. It is a concoction in later unauthorized editions of the Ramayana.
