The Whole World is Waiting

The whole world is suffering in a nightmarish, hellish state of bodily consciousness. Everyone is misidentifying themselves with their material bodies, falsely considering the temporary material body, which is nothing but a garment or a covering being worn by the real self within, to be the actual self. Every problem being faced by the modern day world society is simply due to this ignorance of what is the actual self. Therefore the entire world is simply waiting for that day when it can be awakened from this artificial state of misery and brought back to the original natural position of eternity, knowledge, and bliss. It is our wonderful duty to wake them up in order to relieve them from their unlimited ocean of unnecessary suffering.

I am still confused and deluded. I chant continuously, but without any results. What I can do? Humbly yours,

Answer: Results Are Already There

You are not yet on the level of chanting continuously. That is a very advanced stage only seen in devotees of the caliber of Haridas Thakur. But even with regular chanting it takes time for the results to be seen. Drops of water wear away the stone. It may appear that there is no result from your chanting, but the effect is indeed there. With each utterance of Krishna’s name you are inching towards spiritual perfection. Be patient. Rome was not built in one day. Good things take time to develop. As long as your obeying Srila Prabhupada’s order to chant at least 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna mahamantra on japa mala beads a day without fail along with the strict avoidance of illicit sex, meat eating, intoxication, and gambling, it sure and certain that you are making steady advancement toward the ultimate goal, pure love of God, even if you cannot yet perceive it.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
