Ever-Increasing Nectar at Every Moment
Krishna consciousness is the most wonderful and sublime process of tasting ever-increasing nectar at every minute. Anyone who fully absorbs themselves in Krishna conscious can personally confirm this fact. So why torture yourself for a moment longer by not fully embracing this perfection of consciousness? To do anything else would be sheer idiocy. So come our of the cloud of illusion right now and be who you really are, the eternal servant of Lord Sri Krishna, the most amazingly wonderful, Supreme Personality of Godhead.
Please forgive me if I offended you somehow,

Complaint: Don't Criticize Praying for Daily Bread
I listened to your Srimad Bhagavatam lecture today, and I have a small comment on what you said about the "daily bread". Asking for daily bread in Christian prayer also means asking for God's blessings to follow all commandments. I first started to pray to God in a Christian Orthodox church, where they pray for many things, but the most important one is "Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner!" These people are not materialists, and among them are many true humble servants of God, or they are trying to be. It is very hurting for me and for other people to hear the criticism like this. And as you said in a yesterday's lecture: God likes all the rasas, and He won't be satisfied with only rice, he wants many different dishes. Please forgive me if I offended you somehow,

Answer: Better to Avoid Materialistic Prayers
It's been quite a while since we've been in touch. So I thank you for revealing your heart to me. Bread and following the commandments of God are not the same thing. Therefore if my desire is to follow God's commandments, this is what I directly pray for, not for bread. Of course our aim is not to criticize anyone. We simply want to point out that for a spiritualist, there is no need to pray for material things, just like it is said in the Bible: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all other things shall be added unto you." Just as a little child does not require to ask his loving parents if they will feed him, the spiritualist need not ask God for bread or any material thing. He only needs to pray for pure devotion because His loving father will automatically take care of his material needs. Jesus Christ teaches us clearly the mood of pure devotion when he prays, "Father, not my will, but Thy will be done." This is the perfection of prayer, not praying for this or that material thing. Materialistic prayers divert our minds from the real goal of pure love of God, and therefore are better avoided. Pure devotion to God is one. It does not matter if one is a Christian, a Hindu, a Muslim, or a Jew. Anyone who comes to the perfectional stage of only desiring pure love of God, devoid of all material desires for bread or any other material thing, is a top class spiritualist.Sankarshan Das Adhikari
