Soon to Be In Vrindavana
Soon we will be in Vrindavan, the most amazing transcendental abode of Lord Krishna, which He so mercifully manifests here in this material world for His enjoyment and our benefit. Regarding this holiest of all places Srila Prabhupada stated as follows in a lecture given in Vrindavan on 17 September 1975:
"Just like we are in Vrindavana-dhama. So why Vrindavana-dhama is worshiped? Because the Vrindavana-dhama is not different from Krishna. When you take little dust of Vrindavana-dhama and take it, that means you are taking the dust of Krishna's lotus feet, and you take it. Vrindavana-dhama, so important."
In Bhagavad-gita Chapter 2 Lord Krishna explains about the transmigration of the soul, which makes its clear that we are not this body, that we are instead the spirit soul. And also in Chapter 8, Lord Krishna talks about what one should do at the time of death. In spite of knowing that we are the spirit soul and not this body and also the eternal servants of Lord Krishna, why then when someone we are acquainted with or a close family member leaves the body, are we affected?

Answer: Neophyte's Realization is Only Theoretical
As long as one’s understanding of the spiritual nature of the self is theoretical and not fully realized he will naturally still be affected by the death of a close friend or family member. Therefore it is essential that the practitioner of the bhakti yogi science should transcend the theoretical platform and be fully, unflinchingly situated on the realization platform as soon as possible. This platform is attained by taking shelter and initiation from the bona fide spiritual master and by being fully obedient to his instructions.Sankarshan Das Adhikari
