Did God Make a Mistake?

Sometimes people wonder why God created us as servants, as if there is something wrong with being a servant. What they do not understand is that love means service. If you truly love someone, you will naturally serve them. Are they proposing a world without love? That would certainly be a hellish, tortuous existence indeed. Just as 100% selfless love for the Supreme Person is the original natural state of pure consciousness, so also is its natural manifestation: service. Therefore the pure lover of God is naturally His completely sold out servant.

Question: Actual Duration of the Kali Yuga?

I am fortunate to be associated with you and to be reading your daily mails. This has really helped in improving my life. You have answers to all the questions, and your answers are always supported by Vedic Literature.

I was in a discussion with one spiritual person, and he told me that age of Kali is just 1,200 years. May I request your kind self to please enlighten me regarding the actual duration of the Kali-yuga?

Answer: 1,200 Years times 360 = 432,000 Years

It is explained by the great Vaisnava acharya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada that the Kali-yuga does indeed last for 1,200 years. But this 1,200 years is in the years of the demigods. Since each year of the demigods equals 360 earthly years, by earthly calculations the Kali-yuga lasts for 1,200 times 360 years, which equals 432,000 of our earth years.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
