Take Shelter of Advanced Devotees

The key to making rapid advancement on the path of Krishna bhakti is to take shelter of those devotees who are more advanced in Krishna consciousness than we are, because simply by their blessings, their well-wishes, one can become solidly fixed in Krishna consciousness. In this connection we should always remember this verse (Sri Caitanya Caritamrita Madhya Lila 22.54):

’sādhu-saṅga’, ‘sādhu-saṅga’—sarva-śāstre kaya
lava-mātra sādhu-saṅge sarva-siddhi haya

“The verdict of all revealed scriptures is that by even a moment’s association with a pure devotee, one can attain the topmost perfection of Krishna consciousness".

It is sometimes said, "Man, is a social animal." Because our nature is to always want to be in the association of others , if we properly utilize this nature by always associating with advanced devotees as much as possible, we naturally rapidly advance on the ultimate pathway of self-realization, the pathway of Krishna consciousness.

Answer: Only Accept Some Uncut Fruits

Only accept some uncut fruits such as a banana, an apple, or some grapes. In such a home all of their utensils are contaminated by having come in contact with meat.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
