Initiation Ceremony in South Africa

By Krishna's grace three devotees accepted initiation on Sunday 7 June 2015 in Lenasia, South Africa. Bhakta Shailen accepted first initiation and has thus now become Syamakunda Das. And my disciples, Padasevana das and his wife Premabhakti devi dasi, took a big step forward in their spiritual lives by accepting brahminical initiation. The formal commitment of initiation is one of the most essential items on the path of Krishna consciousness because without taking shelter of a bona fide spiritual master with the solemn vow of initiation, nobody can become solidly fixed in Krishna consciousness.

Question: Anger Blocks the Ecstasy of Chanting

While chanting sometimes I get into a zone of rage or fretful irritation/ anger, especially for a very close female relative of mine. This feeling stops me to relish the nectar of chanting. What to do?

Your insignificant student

Answer: Get Angry At Your Anger

Instead of being angry at her and thus ruining your ability to relish the holy names, you should be angry at yourself for being angry at her. In this way, by conquering your anger, you will be able to dive deeply in the ocean of transcendental bliss found in Krishna's holy name.

When Lord Vishnu was kicked on the chest by Bhrigu Muni, instead of being angry with Bhrigu Muni, He begged forgiveness from Bhrigu Muni being afraid that because His chest was so hard Bhrigu Muni may have hurt his foot by kicking the Lord’s chest. In this way Lord Vishnu is teaching us how to be tolerant of the offenses of others. So you should learn from this lesson taught by Lord Vishnu and become more tolerant than a tree.
