The Krishna Consciousness Movement Can Save the World

In this material world everyone wants to be the master. No one wants to be the servant unless they get paid for it. So practically there is no service attitude to be found anywhere in this material world. This is a major psychological quagmire because our nature is that we are constitutionally the servants of God, and through serving Him we are the servants of everyone. This means that we are trained in this material world to try to be the exact opposite of our actual emotional natures. We are being forced through misguided training to try to be something that we are not. So it is not at all astonishing that the people here are so miserable and that there is so much senseless violence and cruelty all over the world. The Krishna consciousness movement can bring peace, happiness, and ecstatic love to everyone in the world by teaching the people how blissful it is to come back to our original intrinsic natures as the servants of God and of all His beloved children.

Can we keep more than one set of chanting beads (japa mala)? My husband keeps two japa malas, one at home, and one at the factory as he forgets to take his beads with him when he goes to work.

Answer: Devotees Prefer to Chant on Their Initiation Beads

There is no harm in keeping two different sets of japa mala, chanting beads. But once they are initiated, devotees prefer to chant all of their 16 rounds on their initiation beads, the beads that were chanted on by their spiritual master. This is so because their initiation beads have a special spiritual potency due their having been chanted on by the spiritual master. I still have my initiation beads that were chanted on by Srila Prabhupada in 1971. And for the last 43 years I have always chanted all of my rounds on these initiation beads. I can also add that is better to complete all of one's 16 rounds before he leaves home for his job because the home atmosphere is more peaceful and conducive for meditation than a factory.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
