Sweet Sublime Memories of Melbourne

Our several days stop in Melbourne was truly sublime. I was kept busy every day giving a series of lectures at various venues: the ISKCON temple, the Urban Yoga Center, and at several home programs. Every lecture was well attended. Those attending joined enthusiastically in the kirtans. They carefully and attentively heard my lectures and asked many relevant questions regarding how to advance along the pathway of Krishna consciousness. There were so many cherishable sweet loving exchanges between us, the devotees, and guests. Such is the stuff that fills one's life with transcendental bliss. This is what Krishna consciousness is all about.

Sometimes I wonder how the disciples of Srila Prabhupada have devoted their full lives: all their thoughts, deeds, and belongings in service of Srila Prabhupada. But now most of the grand disciples of Srila Prabhupada are unable to do so. Where are we lacking? What is the difference between Srila Prabhupada's disciples and Srila Prabhupada's grand disciples?

Answer: Those Who Are More Intelligent

Disciple or grand disciple is not the issue. There are many grand disciples who are more dedicated than many of Prabhupada’s disciples.

Whether he is a disciple or a grand disciple, it is to up each and every devotee to decide how blissful he would like to be. Those who don’t mind maintaining misery and anxiety in their lives can hold themselves back from full dedication to Srila Prabhupada’s mission. And those who would like to taste unlimited bliss at every minute can fully dedicate their every thought, word, and deed in all times, places, and circumstances to Srila Prabhupada’s world deliverance mission. Everyone has this choice, and they should make their decision intelligently.

A nice example of those who have chosen intelligently is two very blissful disciples I have in South India who are both medical doctors. After they finish their daily duties as medical doctors this husband and wife team then go door to door as spiritual doctors to distribute Srila Prabhupada’s books almost every evening.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
