Unflinching Faith in the Spiritual Master

If one is to gain a proper understanding of the Vedic wisdom, he can only do so by having unflinching faith in the words of the spiritual master and Krishna. This is confirmed as follows in the Svetasvatara Upanisad:

yasya deve parā bhaktir yathā deve tathā gurau
tasyaite kathitā hy arthāḥ prakāśante mahātmanaḥ

“Only unto those who have unflinching faith in the words of the spiritual master and the words of the Supreme Personality of Godhead are the imports of the Vedic knowledge revealed.”
--Svetasvatara Upanisad 6.23

Those who find fault with the spiritual master's teachings become covered by the material energy and cannot realize the Absolute Truth. Therefore we must be very careful to free our hearts from any lingering doubts by inquiring submissively from Sri Guru and advanced Vaisnavas.

Question: How to Maintain Family Without Material Desires?

Thank you for answering to me. You are a great teacher. Now I'm looking for a spiritual master. There are so many questions. One of them is: How to take care of my family and at the same time become free from all material desires?.

Answer: Maintain Krishna's Household, Not Yours.

You have already found a spiritual master because on the order of my spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, I am a spiritual master. Now it is up to you whether or not you want to accept me as your spiritual master, that is your choice. But you should know that you have already found a spiritual master.

You should see that your household is not your household, that it is instead Krishna's household and that it should be maintained on his behalf as a Krishna conscious ashram, a place of spiritual cultivation for you and your family members. In this way you can remain in household life and become free from all material desires.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
