Have Mercy on Animals and Animal-like Men

If we will have mercy on the animals and animal-like men of this Kali Yuga, mercy will be given to us. What goes around comes around. We should be merciful to the animals by not slaughtering them and giving them all protection. We should allow them to live peacefully and happily. And we should be merciful to the animal-like men by giving the knowledge of Krishna consciousness. This will liberate them from all the miseries of material existence. The more we give mercy to others, the mercy will be given to us.

Answer: Get Solidly Fixed in Krishna Consciousness

One becomes liberated from the cycle of birth and death when he remembers Krishna at the time of death. The time of death is a very traumatic experience. At this time one's mind naturally latches onto whatever one held to be most dear during his life. This is why during one's life it is necessary to fully dedicate oneself to Lord Krishna accepting Him as the dearmost object of one's loving affection. In this way by fully absorbing one's life in Krishna consciousness there will be a good chance that he will remember Krishna at the time of death and become liberated.

According to the revealed scriptures becoming a formally initiated disciple of the bona fide spiritual master is necessary for spiritual perfection because unless one becomes the devotee of a devotee, Krishna does not accept his devotion. Srila Prabhupada has taught us what are the proper standards for being initiated. One must be solidly situated in chanting at least 16 rounds daily of the Hare Krishna mahamantra on japa mala beads while also strictly avoiding illicit sex, meat eating, intoxication, and gambling. Initiation means that one accepts the following of these principles as a lifetime vow. Once you are recommended by your local ISKCON leader that you are fixed in the above principles, I be will happy to formally accept you as my disciple the next time I perform an initiation ceremony in your area.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
