We Wanted to Upstage Krishna
Thought for Day--13 April 2026
We fell into this material world because we desired to upstage Krishna—to steal the spotlight from Him. Krishna is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead, the cynosure of all eyes, the most enchanting of all persons, upon whom all beings gaze in wonder and love. But we became envious. We longed to stand in that place—to be seen, to be adored, to be the center. And so, to accommodate our misguided desire, He has given us this material world—a stage upon which we may imagine ourselves to be the center of all existence. Yet, in His boundless mercy, He has also provided the path by which we may return to our true home in His eternal, blissful abode of Goloka Vrindavan.
That path is Krishna consciousness—the very process the Lord Himself so mercifully reveals in the Bhagavad-gītā as it is.

Dandavat pranam.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada, to you, and to Srimati Guru Mataji.
A) Krishna is accepted as the Supreme Personality of Godhead by such authoritative personalities as Vyāsa, Devala, Asita, Nārada, Madhva, Śaṅkara, Rāmānuja, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, Jīva Gosvāmī, Viśvanātha Cakravartī, Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī, and all other authorities in the disciplic succession.
The above statement is given in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. If someone asks me who made Vyāsa, Asita, Devala, and others authorities to accept Krishna as Supreme, how should I answer?
B) In Bhagavad-gītā 2.12, it is stated that there was never a time when the Lord and the living entities did not exist. However, it is also said that the Lord expanded into many souls to have loving relationships. This seems to imply that before the Lord expanded, we did not exist. How should we understand that both the Lord and the living entities exist eternally?
Please guide me.
Your insignificant servant,
Gaurav
