In this world many people are careful to dress themselves very nicely. But we have never seen anyone more meticulous in his dressing than Lord Sri Krishna. Srila Prabhupada tells about Krishna's amazing meticulousness in The Nectar of Devotion:...when He was preparing to kill demons like Ariṣṭāsura, He would take care to arrange His belt very nicely.

Thank you for your answer; it has strengthened my understanding of “Hare,” which I was already aware of. However, a doubt still remains: why not Govinda, Gopāla, Madhusūdana, or Śyāma? Why focus only on Rādhā Mā’s name, which I understand is a sensitive topic in ISKCON, and for which I do not wish to inquire further.
After completing the required chanting on beads, is it okay to chant any of the names of Kṛṣṇa during one’s daily activities? In my limited understanding, one is a mantra, like the mahā-mantra, and the others are names of Kṛṣṇa. Both are non-different from Kṛṣṇa.
I am not able to understand this intellectually, as the mantra has rules and regulations (aparādhas), whereas the names of the Lord can be uttered at any stage (as in the case of Ajāmila).
I hope this message finds you in a cheerful mood, and may Kṛṣṇa and Prabhupāda speak through you.

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
Like a multi-faceted diamond, every name of God reveals a different attractive aspect of His greatness. The name Krishna, meaning “all-attractive,” encompasses within it all the millions of names of God. Thus chanting it is the most powerful form of chanting.
Since the Hare Krishna mahā-mantra has been given by God Himself in His most merciful manifestation as Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, we can understand that chanting it is the perfection of all chanting.
After one finishes one’s daily duty of chanting at least sixteen rounds of the Hare Krishna mahā-mantra, one may then chant any of the names of God. Many devotees are enlivened to go on chanting Hare Krishna because it is the perfection of chanting.
We have to be careful to avoid the ten offenses against chanting the Lord's holy name when we chant any of the names of God. The ten offenses are as follows:
(1) To blaspheme the devotees who have dedicated their lives for propagating the holy name of the Lord.
(2) To consider the names of demigods like Lord Śiva or Lord Brahmā to be equal to, or independent of, the name of Lord Viṣṇu. (Sometimes the atheistic class of men take it that any demigod is as good as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Viṣṇu. But one who is a devotee knows that no demigod, however great he may be, is independently as good as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore, if someone thinks that he can chant "Kālī, Kālī!" or "Durgā, Durgā!"and it is the same as Hare Kṛṣṇa, that is the greatest offense.)
(3) To disobey the orders of the spiritual master.
(4) To blaspheme the Vedic literature or literature in pursuance of the Vedic version.
(5) To consider the glories of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa to be imagination.
(6) To give some interpretation on the holy name of the Lord.
(7) To commit sinful activities on the strength of the holy name of the Lord. (It should not be taken that because by chanting the holy name of the Lord one can be freed from all kinds of sinful reaction, one may continue to act sinfully and after that chant Hare Kṛṣṇa to neutralize his sins. Such a dangerous mentality is very offensive and should be avoided.)
(8) To consider the chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa one of the auspicious ritualistic activities offered in the Vedas as fruitive activities (karma-kāṇḍa).
(9) To instruct a faithless person about the glories of the holy name. (Anyone can take part in chanting the holy name of the Lord, but in the beginning one should not be instructed about the transcendental potency of the Lord. Those who are too sinful cannot appreciate the transcendental glories of the Lord, and therefore it is better not to instruct them in this matter.)
(10) To not have complete faith in the chanting of the holy names and to maintain material attachments, even after understanding so many instructions on this matter.
It is also offensive to inattentive while chanting.
Every devotee who claims to be a Vaiṣṇava must guard against these offenses in order to quickly achieve the desired success.
To make our chanting more effective, we should first chant the Pañca-tattva mahā-mantra before chanting the Hare Krishna mahā-mantra. Regarding this, Śrīla Prabhupāda writes as follows in his purport to Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Ādi-līlā, Chapter 7, Text 4:
"There are ten offenses in the chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, but these are not considered in the chanting of the Pañca-tattva mantra, namely, śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanya prabhu-nityānanda śrī-advaita gadādhara śrīvāsādi-gaura-bhakta-vṛnda. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is known as mahā-vadānyāvatāra, the most magnanimous incarnation, for He does not consider the offenses of the fallen souls. Thus to derive the full benefit of the chanting of the mahā-mantra (Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare), we must first take shelter of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, learn the Pañca-tattva mahā-mantra, and then chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. That will be very effective."
