What is Your Purpose in Life?

2 July 2025

If your purpose in live is anything other than awakening pure love of God within your heart you are on the wrong track and you will ultimately be disappointed even though you may achieve great material success. Therefore, take the advice of Lord Sri Krishna given in the Bhagavad-gita very seriously and make you life unlimitedly sublime.

You can still have material success. Arjuna achieved unlimited success on the Battlefield of Kurukshetra. But that was not his purpose. He simply wanted to please Krishna.

The choice is yours. You are free to do whatever you wish.

I sincerely hope you make the right choice.

Hare Krishna,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I'm seeking to understand how we reconcile certain aspects of Jesus Christ's teachings and Christian practices with our Krishna Conscious philosophy. I have a few specific questions that are causing me some confusion:
* The Bible states Jesus is the Son of God, yet also says "I and the Father are one" (John 8:58). How do we reconcile this with the idea of him being a devotee of Lord Krishna?
* The Bible speak of eternal heaven and hell based on accepting Jesus as only god, while our scriptures emphasize karma and rebirth, with souls returning to Earth. Why this difference?
* Jesus appears to be against idol worship (Exodus 34:13) and some verses even suggest killing idol worshipers or followers of other religions. This seems to contradict our inclusive approach and Deity worship.
* Christians, including Jesus, are depicted as meat-eaters, which is contrary to our Vaishnava principles.
* I've witnessed forceful conversions to Christianity through material incentives. This seems far from spiritual.
* Jesus speaks of hell and heaven, which are still material realms, not the spiritual abode of God. It seems Christianity focuses on material outcomes rather than pure spiritual elevation.
Given these points, how can we truly consider Jesus a Krishna conscious person? Your insights would be greatly appreciated.

Your servant.

My Dear H.S.

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Here are your questions with answers:

Question:* The Bible states Jesus is the Son of God, yet also says "I and the Father are one" (John 8:58). How do we reconcile this with the idea of him being a devotee of Lord Krishna?
Answer: All of Krishna’s devotees are one with Krishna because although separate they have no other desire except to serve Him and please Him.

Question:* The Bible speak of eternal heaven and hell based on accepting Jesus as only god, while our scriptures emphasize karma and rebirth, with souls returning to Earth. Why this difference?
Answer: There is no difference because to be caught up here in the cycle of birth and death is certainly hell.

Question:* Jesus appears to be against idol worship (Exodus 34:13) and some verses even suggest killing idol worshipers or followers of other religions. This seems to contradict our inclusive approach and Deity worship
Answer: Since Krishna is present in the form of the deity, deity worship is not idol worship. Idol worship refers to false gods not the real God.

Question:*
Christians, including Jesus, are depicted as meat-eaters, which is contrary to our Vaishnava principles.
Answer: Jesus teaches not to kill. But those Christians who eat meat and not real Christians. They are cheaters and rascals.

Question:*
I've witnessed forceful conversions to Christianity through material incentives. This seems far from spiritual.
Answer: Such things are totally bogus. Surrender to God can only be done voluntarily.

Question:* Jesus speaks of hell and heaven, which are still material realms, not the spiritual abode of God. It seems Christianity focuses on material outcomes rather than pure spiritual elevation.
Answer: Jesus teaches full surrender to the will of God, which is the same thing that the Bible teaches. We may search the whole world over but will find practically impossible to find anyone who is a genuine Christian.

Question:* Given these points, how can we truly consider Jesus a Krishna conscious person?
Answer: Lord Jesus Christ is a pure devotee of Krishna a śaktyāveśa-avatāra, a person who is invested with the divine power of Krishna for delivering the fallen souls. In fact, it was Jesus who brought me to the Krishna consciousness movement where I found the perfection of Christianity.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in a cheerful mood.

Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
