Fog

There are innumerable obstacles on the path of Krishna bhakti. At times, they overwhelm us so completely that we completely lose sight of our direction. Yet in spite of this, if we persist in chanting the Hare Krishna mahamantra, we will overcome even the most seemingly insurmountable difficulties. And our journey back home, back to Godhead, and our mission to make the whole world Krishna conscious will become free from all impediments.

Hare Krishna Guruji,
My humble namaste.

I have been suffering from ill health for the past one and a half years and have been facing some adverse situations in life.

My faith in the Lord is being tested. I believe that this is also a test from God. How can I keep my faith strong?

Please guide me.
Hare Krishna!

My Dear Bhuveswari,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

I am very, very sorry to hear of your difficulties. This brings pain to me heart. I pray that your difficulties will be soon be over and that you regain good health.

Highly devotees like Queen Kunti, the mother of the Pandavas, prayed to be always in distress so that Krishna could be with her and her sons to protect them.

Here is her prayer:

vipadaḥ santu tāḥ śaśvat tatra tatra jagad-guro
bhavato darśanaṁ yat syād apunar bhava-darśanam

"I wish that all those calamities would happen again and again so that we could see You again and again, for seeing You means that we will no longer see repeated births and deaths" (SB 1.8.25).

Of course, we are not so exalted to be able to feelingly pray like that, but remembering her wonderful example gives us the strength to continue our path of bhakti no matter how difficult things may get.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in a cheerful mood.

Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari

How I Came to Krishna Consciousness

In a world obsessed with money, fame, and fleeting pleasures—leading nowhere but to the grave or the crematorium—I walked away. Life felt so meaningless, I couldn’t stand it. This is the true story of how I turned my back on the American materialistic dream and discovered something far greater: Krishna consciousness. A gripping journey of inner revolution and a call to awaken a world civilization on the edge of collapse.
