Don't Be Carried Away by Illusory Happiness

The cheap thrills of material happiness may appear to be very wonderful and very satisfying. But factually there is no happiness in this material existence. All happiness here is an illusion like a mirage in the desert. So instead of running after false happiness, we should go after the real happiness of awakening the Krishna consciousness that is now sleeping within our hearts. In this way we will become totally happy and totally satisfied, and this happiness will go on increasing forever. This happiness is described in Srimad Bhagavatam, Fifth Canto, Chapter 5, Text 1 as brahma-saukhyaṁ tv anantam as spiritual happiness that will go on increasing forever.

Why are we instructed to offer our food to Krishna before eating?

Answer

When we eat food that has been offered to Krishna this eating is spiritual and it purifies our hearts. Krishna does not eat meat, fish, eggs, onions, or garlic. So do not offer these to Krishna.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
