In this material world we are like the donkey who never gets the carrot no matter how fast he walks or even runs to get it. Material happiness is like that. No matter how much we may endeavor for it we never get it because there is no such thing as material happiness. It is an illusion.

How can I enjoy life properly? I see that for a devotee there are so many dos and don’ts. But still, devotees are so happy and smiling. What is the purest motive possible to make Krishna and you happy with me? Because maybe I’m just trying to squeeze the happiness out of you. And when there is happiness, I feel like I wouldn’t need your help.

Please explain.

The hand is provided with the nutrition it needs only by feeding the stomach. It cannot get nutrition by squeezing the food within its fingers. Similarly, the only way we can enjoy is to give enjoyment to Krishna. All other attempts besides this will result in failure.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
