"Godhead is light. Nescience is darkness. Where there is Godhead there is no nescience."
There is Special Mercy in this Age of Kali
In the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita Adi Lila, Chapter 17, Verse 22 we find these most inspiring words:kali-kāle nāma-rūpe kṛṣṇa-avatāra
nāma haite haya sarva-jagat-nistāra
”In this Age of Kali, the holy name of the Lord, the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, is the incarnation of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Simply by chanting the holy name, one associates with the Lord directly. Anyone who does this is certainly delivered."
So let us take full advantage of this special mercy and chant the holy names of the Lord as much as possible every day.

Hare Krishna Dear Srila Gurudev,Please accept my humble obeisances at your lotus feet,
All glories to your divine grace.
All glories to his divine grace Srila Prabhupada.
Members of our congregation are saying that if one desires to a guru he cannot be a guru and that only sannyasis can be gurus. What is the proper understanding?
Thank you Srila Gurudev for providing a very clear understanding of practicing and progressing Krsna Consciousness.

From: Sri Vrindavan Dham, IndiaMy Dear Ananda Vardana,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
In a lecture on the Srimad Bhagavatam given on 17 December 1973 in Los Angeles Srila Prabhupada ordered his disciples, "Become perfect in the understanding of this science and become guru and deliver the whole world."
Thus, it is the duty of the disciple to carry out the orders given to him by his spiritual master and become a guru. The disciple must always aspire for this. It is the duty of the disciple to aspire to become a spiritual master and to try his best to successfully accomplish this. To say that it is wrong to do so is another way of saying that it is wrong for the disciple to aspire to carry out the orders given to him by his spiritual master.
Regarding your second issue: If it is wrong for anyone who is not a sannyasi to become a spiritual master, then how is it possible that one of the greatest spiritual masters in our disciplic succession, Srila Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, was a householder? In this connection we find the following in Srila Prabhupad's book Quest for Enlightement:
"Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura was the father of the saṅkīrtana movement within the last two hundred years. He was a householder and responsible government officer—a magistrate. And he was a great devotee and a great ācārya, or prominent spiritual master, in the disciplic succession of Caitanya Mahāprabhu."
If you need further clarification on these matters please do not hesitate to contact me.
I hope this meets you in the best of health.
Your ever well-wisher,
