It Was a Most Phenomenal Vyas Puja Celebration
Here in Vrindavan on 26 October 2024, hundreds of people, a large crowd consisting of my disciples and many others gathered to worship me on the day that I took birth in this material world. On the Vedic calendar it is the 10th day of the most sacred month of Kartik, the Damodar month. Or course, it is not that I am worshipable. But the Vedic etiquette is that after departure of one's spiritual. master if one has fully embraced the task of delivering the fallen souls of this material world back to their original home in the spiritual sky, he can accepted as an acharya and given the same honor that is to be given to Lord Sri Krishna Himself. This is in accordance with Lord Sri Krishna's instruction in the Srimad Bhagavatam, 11th Canto, Chapter 17, Text 27:ācāryaṁ māṁ vijānīyān
nāvamanyeta karhicit
"One should know the ācārya as Myself and never disrespect him in any way."
I appreciated very much the sincere spoken offerings of love given by so many devotees. What greatly melted my heart was the drama produced by my disciple, Dvijamani Gaura Das Brahmacari, depicting the story of how I became a devotee of Krishna, as described in my memoir, The Divine Love Memoir. It brought tears to my eyes again and again.
But the most surprising and relishable part of the celebration was when two of my dearmost Godbrothers, Panca Gauda Prabhu (the. president of ISKCON Vrindavan) and Sruta Kirti Prabhu (Srila Prabhupada's former personal servant) surprisingly also entered the Vyas Puja celebration to give their words of appreciation. They are seen in the photo below.
