How Srila Prabhupada Prayed to His Spiritual Master

Here is a Vyas Puja homage written by Srila Prabhupada to his spiritual master, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Mahārāja:

Adore ye all,
The happy day.
Blessed than Heaven,
Sweeter than May.
When He appeared at Puri,
The holy place,
My Lord and Master
His Divine Grace.

Oh! my Master
The evangelic angel.
Give us thy light,
Lift up thy candle.
Struggle for existence
A Human race,
The only hope
His Divine Grace.

Misled we are
All going astray,
Save us Lord
Our fervent pray,
Wonder thy ways
To turn our face
Adore thy feet
Your Divine Grace.

Forgotten Krishna
We fallen souls.
Paying most heavy
The illusion's toll.
Darkness around
All untrace,
The only hope
His Divine Grace.

Absolute is sentient
Thou hast proved.
Impersonal calamity
Thou hast moved.
This gives us a life
Anew and fresh.
Worship thy feet
Your Divine Grace.

Had you not come
Who had told,
The message of Krishna
Forceful and bold,
That's your right
You have the mace.
Save me a fallen
Your Divine Grace.

The line of service
As drawn by you,
Is pleasing and healthy
Like morning dew.
The oldest of all
But in new dress
Miracle done
Your Divine Grace.

Just see Srila Prabhupada's humility. Here he is presenting himself to his Guru Maharaja as a fallen soul and begging his Guru Maharaja to save him. We can all learn from Srila Prabhupada's example how we should present ourselves to our spiritual master.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
