Our Modern Day Civilization is Doomed

Flying from Johannesburg, South Africa to Mauritius on 5 October 2024 it was very disturbing for me to notice the video that the passenger across the aisle from me was watching. It showed repeatedly scenes of one human being brutally tortured by another human being. This is what many people nowadays pay money to enjoy watching. This a clear indication that our modern day society is on the verge of total collapse. All the modern facilities that we are now enjoying are there because of our previous pious activities. But now due to an enormous increase of sinfulness, such as cow killing and baby killing, these facilities will be taken away and our modern day civilization will completely collapse. The Hare Krishna movement is the only hope for preventing the complete destruction of the modern day world order that we are now to some extent still enjoying. So we should our duty of preaching given to us by Srila Prabhupada very, very seriously.

Are you in Mauritius now?

Answer

Yes, we just arrived in Mauritius on the evening of 5 October. Our first day was a Sunday and was very full with preaching. First I was asked to give Srimad Bhagavatam class. Then after breakfast I initiated four new disciples (pictured below.) Then after lunch we traveled to beach area where Srila Prabhupada spent some time on his first visit to Mauritius. There I gave a detailed explanation of my wonderful experiences Srila Prabhupada. After that we traveled back to the home of our hosts, my disciples Murlidhara and Arcana Siddhi, where I dressed Sri Sri Radha Damodar into their night clothes. All this was going on that I was experiencing my usual pinched nerve pain. This first day was a Sunday, so the rest of the week of our stay here will not be as busy.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
