Are You a Warrior or a Worrier?

In his book Perfection of Yoga Srila Prabhupada writes:

"To adopt spiritual life is more or less to declare war against the material energy. The material energy is trying to entrap the conditioned soul as much as possible, and when the conditioned soul tries to get out of her clutches by spiritual advancement of knowledge, material nature becomes more stringent and vigorous in her efforts to test how much the aspiring spiritualist is sincere. The material energy, or maya, will then offer more allurements,"

Thus we can understand that embracing the path of Krishna consciousness is declaring war against Maya. Just as in a war there are many casualties I have seen in my 53 years in the Krishna consciousness movement that so many devotees have succumbed to Maya and have the left ISKCON to again become sense gratifiers. They have stopped fighting and surrendered to the enemy. So instead of being warriors they have become worriers entrapped by the material energy. If you want to stay on the liberated platform, the spiritual platform, you must be a warrior, someone who is fighting a battle against the material energy. Otherwise you will end up being a worrier, someone entrapped in the material energy.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
