Persons of Ideal Character Can Change the World
There are unlimited powerful enlightening lessons to be derived from the Bhagavad-gita. One of those lessons is to understand the great world transforming power of an acharya, a person who sets the perfect example of being totally surrendered to Krishna with his every thought, word, and deed in all times, places, and circumstances. In this regard Krishna states in Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 3, Text 21 as follows:

yad yad ācarati śreṣṭhas
tat tad evetaro janaḥ
sa yat pramāṇaṁ kurute
lokas tad anuvartate

"Whatever action a great man performs, common men follow. And whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues."

So now it is up to each of us to become such persons of ideal character. The more that we do this, the we more can have a positive, uplifting impact on the global culture.

What does it mean to say Atman (the individual soul) is Brahman (God)?

Answer: Qualitatively, But Not Quantitatively

This means that we are qualitatively one with God just like the drop of ocean water is qualitatively one with the ocean because the same chemicals that are found in the ocean are also found in the drop. But it does not mean that the drop of ocean water is the entire ocean. While it is possible to float a gigantic ship on the entire ocean, it is not possible to float that gigantic ship on a drop of ocean water. So qualitatively the self (Atman) is God (Brahma), but quantitatively it is not.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
