Question: Why to Avoid Drinking Liquor?

Hare Krishna Hare Rama!
I hope you are in good health, Sankarshan Das Adhikari!

I request to ask you:
I chant and endeavor to keep my liquor intake to minimum. Instead of taking pills to keep up with strength and serve needs I get intoxicated. I can't realize why to avoid booze? Swamiji, please don't feel offended but It's often favorable to health.

Yours sincerely

Answer: Embrace Divine Intoxication

My Dear Student,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Krishna consciousness is the supreme intoxicant. In order to experience this supreme intoxication you must give up all inferior forms of intoxication such as liquor. Once you fully embrace Krishna consciousness you will experience the most
amazing state of divine intoxication and never want to come down from from state to some lower of form of mundane intoxication, which is accompanied by so many miseries.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.

Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
