We Will Lead the World Out of Chaos
Our beloved spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, has blessed us, his followers, that one day we will be the leaders of the world. Here is what he wrote in this regard from Bombay on 26 November 1974 to his disciple Saurabha Das:
"So it is up to you Europeans and Americans to push it all over the world, and one day you will be the leaders of the world. It is not difficult. You just have to work sincerely and intelligently. Krishna will do everything."
So there it is. We have the blessing to be the world leaders. Now we simply have to work sincerely and intelligently, and one day Srila Prabhupada's most sublime, divine prediction will come true. We will factually be the leaders of the world. This does not necessarily mean political leaders, although that could also be true. In Vedic culture the brahmanas, the priestly class, are the factual leaders of the society because the political leaders rule the state in accordance with the instructions they receive from the brahmanas.
Kindly note that Srila Prabhupada wrote this letter at a time when for the most part only Europeans and Americans had joined this movement. Now that many hundreds of thousands have joined us from other parts of the world this prediction also applies to them as well. The ISKCON devotees will become the world leaders because the entire global society will follow their directions how their nations should be organized and functioning for the ultimate benefit of all living beings, namely their deliverance back to home, back to Godhead.
May that day come soon! May that day come very soon!
My question is what should a devotee want from Lord Krishna - bhakti or renunciation?
Your servant,
Rashmi
My Dear Rashmi,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Devotees only desire bhakti. By doing so they automatically attain the perfection of renunciation.
I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
