How to Deal with Calamities

As long as we are here in this material world it is sure and certain that we will have to face calamities. So how to deal with them so that we are not devastated? This is a very important art that every devotee must master in order to become solidly fixed in Krishna consciousness. The simple and sublime method is to always remember that everything is happening within the plan of Krishna for bringing His devotees back to home, back to Godhead as soon as possible. Therefore, because Krishna's mercy is always acting there is never reason to become emotionally devastated in any situation. Queen Kunti is the great acharya or world teacher regarding how to cope with calamities. She prayed to Krishna asking for more calamities because she found calamitous situations to be most beneficial for her Krishna consciousness by dint of their intensifying her mood of taking shelter of the Lord.

Answer: The Source of All Existence

We can prove by logic that there is a personal God behind all of existence. And in the Bhagavad-gita Lord Krishna reveals Himself to be just that person, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the source of all existence. It is not just by His words. He actually reveals to His disciple Arjuna His universal form in which everything past, present, and future can be experienced all at once. In this same Bhagavad-gita Krishna teaches us the art of fully realizing Him by offering everything to Him, including the food that we eat.When we cook for Krishna and offer the foods to Him before eat them, they become transformed from matter into spirit. A person who eats such offered food can tangibly experience how his consciousness is spiritualized or transcendentalized by such eating.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
