The Only Real Cure for Depression

This material world by its very nature is a most depressing, miserable place. The only happiness you can get here is imaginary happiness, i.e. fooling yourself into thinking that you are happy. But through the process of reconnecting yourself with your actual non-material eternal identity as the servant of Lord Sri Krishna you regain your original all-blissful, all-compassionate nature. This all-blissful nature is realized in proportion to how much you manifest compassion within your heart. The pure devotee's nature is that he feels unlimited compassion for the suffering souls of this world and thus dedicates himself birth after birth for delivering them from their unending misery.

Question: If We Do Not Feel Krishna's Presence?

My dear Srila Gurudeva,
Please accept my humble obeisances

I heard you saying in a lecture that we should feel the presence of Krishna everywhere and in everything. My question is: If we are not able to feel Krishna's presence naturally due to our conditioning, is it okay to feel it artificially/ forcefully?

Answer: Act Dutifully Understanding that He is Present

You cannot forcefully, artificially feel the presence of Krishna. So what you should do instead, if you cannot feel His presence, is understand philosophically that He is present and act dutifully in accordance with that reality. By acting by acting in this way under the instructions of your spiritual master, in the course of time you will gradually and eventually come to the stage of feeling Krishna's presence everywhere.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
